Welcome to a brand new blogging year and I’m starting with a review of four products from the Korean skincare brand, MIXSOON!
If you have been following my reviews over the years, you already know I love CICA as an ingredient because of its soothing effect and when combined with other products, great for hydration!
In this post, I’ll be sharing a detailed review of each product, its ingredients, texture comparison, how to use and overall thoughts. I’ll also add a video below so you can watch its application and how it blends into the skin.

1) MIXSOON Soondy Centella Asiatica Extract Essence
This was my first time using a product with just one ingredient. Formulated with 100% CICA extract, it has a woody/musk smell that I absolutely loved 😅. It has a watery texture and felt very lightweight, so it probably should be considered as more of a toner. I love how it sinks immediately into the skin and that’s great for prepping your skin for the other steps.
It comes in a size of 100ml/3.3 floz, at a price range of $25 – $32. I wish it came in a bigger size though!

2) MIXSOON x UNA Master Serum
The serum is one of the products in the “Master line” (created in collaboration with a content creator called UNA), and the ingredients lineup was just great!
Ingredients: CICA extract, bifida ferment extract, hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate, and pathenol.
CICA is known for its soothing benefits, the ferment extract is probiotic ingredient known for its barrier repairing and skin replenishing benefits. The others are also well-known for their hydrating and moisturising benefits. I love how it was down to just these five ingredients because they work well together to soothe, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin.
Just like the Soondy essence, it has an addicting musky smell with a watery texture, although slightly more viscous. It sinks easily into the skin and doesn’t feel tacky at all.
Finally, it comes in a size of 60ml/2.02 floz, at a price range of $34– $38. Although quite pricey for a serum, I loved that it came in a bigger size since most serums tend to come in smaller sizes.

3) MIXSOON Bean Essence
This one was very similar to the COSRX Snail essence! Although it does not feature snail mucin as an ingredient, it has a similar slimy texture and gives the same instant plumping effect.
It contains 4 ingredients which I found quite interesting because they were all extracts/filtrates fermented by Saccharomyces/Lactobacillus bacteria. I know that sounds a bit creepy😂, but these ingredients (thanks to their fermenting organisms) have loads of benefits! They have antioxidant and texture-improving benefits, help to control sebum production, and moisturise and revitalise the skin.
Ingredients List: Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Lactobacillus/Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract, Saccharomyces/Barley Seed Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus/Pear Juice Ferment Filtrate and filtrates.
Another interesting feature is that it can be used as an exfoliant, so I tried using it like that. I rubbed it into my skin as advised, and after a few minutes, it really did feel like I needed to wipe it off (which I did with a toner-soaked cotton pad)!
To use as an essence, gently massage and pat it in (instead of rubbing). It leaves a bit more shine compared to the COSRX essence though.
Also on the pricier side, it comes in a size of 50ml/3.3 floz, at a price range of $31 – $35 (currently on sale for $17 on StyleKorean!).

4) MIXSOON Centella Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++
I already did a full review of this sunscreen on Instagram and I was glad to get another tube! It feels soothing thanks to its CICA ingredient, blends in easily and leaves absolutely no white cast. The only con is that the smell might be overpowering for some people, but personally, I did not mind.
Will still publish a review for it on the blog!
Like most sunscreens, it comes in a size of 50g, currently at a price range of $22 – $25 (but the prices definitely reduce further).

Overall thoughts
Will I recommend? Yes, definitely! I consider them great for a routine focusing on hydration and anti-irritation and they cover all the basic steps in any routine (except cleansing). My favourites are the Soondy essence and master serum!
Will I repurchase? Yeah, they are going on my repurchase list (to buy when they are on discounts!).
