Vitamin C is one of those ingredients I’ve written few reviews for on the blog (mostly because I have not tried a lot of them) but the Vitamin C serum from PURITO definitely deserves a full review. I recently stopped using it because it oxidised 😭 so it was the perfect time to write a review.
In this post, I’ll be sharing everything to know about the serum, where to shop and my thoughts on its effectiveness.

About PURITO Pure Vitamin C Serum
Formulated with the pure form of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), the serum helps to brighten dull skin and improve skin texture from sun damage. It also has a number of OG ingredients like niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate and other ingredients which help to improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of dark spots/scars.
There are currently two versions and I think the version I used was the old one. I’ll share the main ingredients based on the old version but the full ingredients list will be the new version. Vitamin C serums are usually 30ml but this one is 60ml; that also means more waste in the likelihood of oxidation.
You can shop it on Yesstyle for $18 (currently on sale for $14) and also from other authorised retail stores.

Skincare Routines to Try:
Ingredients
The core ingredients for the old version featured ascorbic acid (the main ingredient for “fixing” sun-damaged skin), sodium hyaluronate (hydrates the skin by locking in moisture), and niacinamide (brighten the skin and minimise appearance of pores). The newer version featured adenosine and replaced the water ingredient with bamboo water (soothes & strengthens the skin barrier).
Full Ingredients List:
Bambusa Vulgaris Water (76.23%), Pentylene Glycol, Ascorbic Acid (5%), Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyglyceryl-6 Caprylate, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Hydroxyacetophenone, Disodium EDTA, Glutathione, Adenosine.
Thoughts
I liked that it came in a dark bottle to reduce the rate of oxidisation (I still do not understand why the one from Klairs comes in a clear bottle!); it was tightly shut and came with a DIY pump. Texture-wise, it was watery and it absorbed nicely into the skin without feeling oily or tacky.
It had an unusual smell though, somewhat fishy but nothing too off-putting. The pump was also easy to use but sometimes, it would squirt all over the place so I had to use my hands for extra protection.
It seems the pump has been changed though, so maybe that would help with the mess!
I typically used it in the morning (vitamin C can enhance sunscreen protection) but I also used it at night. It was part of my hyperpigmentation routine up until it oxidised.
Overall, I enjoyed using this serum a lot and it was such a bummer that it oxidised after 3 months. I could not use up to half of the bottle so this is one of the extremely rare moments I’d want a product in a smaller size.
Hopefully the brand makes a smaller version (30ml) soon!

Final Thoughts
Will I recommend? Absolutely! Apart from the smell, I liked using it and I think it’s definitely worth the try. If you don’t mind weird smells and you can quickly use up 60ml, you should give it a try.
Will I repurchase? Yeah, I would love to repurchase if the brand releases a smaller size. I wouldn’t want to go through another heartbreak of throwing out another half-filled bottle because it oxidised.
