I’ve been on the lookout for new moisturisers and my latest trial was this Jovees Himalayan Cherry Cold Cream. I’ll be sharing a full review of the product, its active ingredients and my thoughts on its moisturising effectiveness.
ABOUT
Name: Jovees Himalayan Cherry Cold Cream
It claims to be a “unique formulae and concentrated blend of pure herbs” to help with “rehydration, resilience and moisture balance of the skin“. It’s also supposed to soothe and provide relief to the skin.
I opted to buy it because I was curious about some of its ingredients, notably Himalayan cherry. It also contains Vitamin E; I’d heard about its several benefits and I wanted to try that too.

INGREDIENTS
I’m not a fan of products not including their full ingredients list because that can be misleading. The cream listed only its active ingredients but I decided to still give it a try because of my curiosity.
It contains Himalayan Cherry, Aloe Vera, Almond, Carrot, Wheatgerm oil, Olive oil, Rose water, Vitamin-A, Vitamin-E. Himalayan cherry is said to be rich in antioxidants and helps with cellular regeneration. Vitamin E is also an antioxidant, great for hydrating the skin, strengthening skin barrier and lots of other benefits. Vitamin A is another ingredient with several benefits.
It also contains capric caprylic triglyceride, an ingredient I recognized from one of my previous reviews. It’s derived from coconut oil but it didn’t cause me to breakout from both products. Overall, I noticed most of the ingredients had moisturizing and anti-aging properties.
On the other hand, they are not favorable for oily or acne-prone skin. Most of the oils are known to be comedogenic and I was very skeptical about using it. Thankfully, I haven’t experienced any major breakouts so far.
THOUGHTS
The first thing I noticed was the smell❌. It had a very strong, long-lasting herbal-like smell and I absolutely hated it. I almost gave up on using it but I eventually got used to the smell and it didn’t seem so bad afterwards.
I haven’t tried a lot of moisturizers but I like how this one gives a matte-like finish after application. I’m not sure how best to explain but it gives a smooth finish after rubbing it in. However, this may be subject to weather conditions. It felt heavy on my face for the first few times and I think it’d definitely feel heavy in hotter climates.
I also think it did well as a moisturizer. My skin still felt hydrated and I didn’t have any side effects. In fact, my most prominent thought was the fact that I didn’t experience any side effects or major breakouts despite all the red flags.

CONCLUSION
I bought the cream because I was curious about its ingredients. I also really wanted to try another moisturizer apart from my usual one. The smell almost dissuaded me but I ended up giving it a try. I used it a couple days a week and I didn’t experience any side effects or breakouts. Himalayan cherry didn’t raise any red flags so I’d like to try it out again in another product.
Would I recommend?
This could be a good option for dry/flaky skin. However I wouldn’t recommend for oily or acne-prone skin. I didn’t break out but it may affect your skin differently and cause breakouts. I also didn’t use it as a daily moisturizer so that may have also helped.
Would I repurchase?
Absolutely not. I may be able to tolerate it now but I still really hate the smell.
So that’s it guys. I hope you found this review helpful and you came across it right before making a purchase!
