This helps to keep track of any new product that might not be working for you (causes breakouts, etc.) or one that’s proving useful in your routine.

These posts will not be reviews; it’s more of going back to the old way of sharing casual contents with a blog audience; the way it used to be before social media tools like InstaStories!

1. PURITO Oat-In Calming Gel Cream **PR
I was quite happy to receive this newly launched cream from PURITO, after reaching out via email to try their DermaHA-3 liquid and serum.
Claims: A lightweight fast-absorbing gel cream that provides long-lasting hydration. It comes in a size of 100ml.

2. MISSHA All-Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45 PA+++
This sunscreen is quite popular in the Nigerian skincare community and it has quite a number of variations.
Claims: A moisturizing (chemical) sunscreen that provides intense nourishment and hydration to the skin. It comes in a size of 50ml.
Key Ingredients: chemical UV filters, Relief water and Oriental Tea Newplex (these are combinations of ingredients).

Quick Impressions: Another sunscreen with a nice smell and it blends in soo easily (but stings my eyes sometimes)!
Update(07/10/21): I LOST THE SUNSCREEN😭😭. I forgot it at a restroom I went to, for reapplication. It felt so terrible and my heart literally shattered. I didn’t even realise I was this attached to my skincare products. But yeah, that happened so the review will be postponed till I purchase it again.
3. COSRX Advanced Snail Mucin Gel Cleanser
Since I liked the COSRX low pH cleanser and the snail mucin essence, I was very curious to see what a snail mucin cleanser could do. I also needed to get new cleansers and it seemed like the best opportunity to try it.
Claims: An ultra-gentle gel cleanser specially formulated with skin beneficial ingredients to hydrate and protect the skin. It comes in different sizes.
Key Ingredients: 10,000ppm of Snail secretion filtrate (snail mucin).

Quick Impressions: I wasn’t expecting its smell! It has a nice lemon/lime-like smell and I think I’d get addicted to it pretty soon.
4. SOME BY MI YUJA Niacin Brightening Toner (Trial kit size) **PR
I received the YUJA NIACIN starter kit as part of a Yesstyle campaign and I’ve been curious about trying it. The brand has quite a number of brightening products and this toner is one of them.

However, I saw the term “whitening” severally and that made me skeptical. Eventually, I opened the kit to try as a remedy for the recent sun damage to my forehead. As a precaution, I’m using it for that region only.
Claims: . A low pH toner combining the brightening effects of several ingredients including twelve kinds of vitamins and lotus extract, also for spot and blemish care. The trial kit size is 30ml but it comes in a full size of 150ml.
Key Ingredients: 90% YUJA extract, 5% Niacinamide.

5. SOME BY MI YUJA Niacin Brightening Sleeping Mask (Trial kit size)
The second product in the kit that I currently have opened is the sleeping mask. Nighttime routines seem to be much more effective, so I use this on the areas with sun damage. One thing to note is that YUJA extract (citrus junos fruit) is very rich in vitamin C, hence this kit has high vitamin C concentrations.
Claims: .A brightening and special care sleeping mask with similar brightening ingredients as with the toner. The trial kit size is 20g but it comes in a full and mini size.
Key Ingredients: 70.5% YUJA extract, 5% Niacinamide.

Quick Impressions: It has a similar smell to the toner but this one lingers on for too long; I’m not a fan.
6. PYUNKANG YUL Acne Spot Cream
Since my experience with the SebaMed Anti-Pimple Gel, I’ve been a fan of acne spot creams. I fancy the Pyunkang Yul brand so I decided to start off with their spot cream.
Claims: A specialised cream for soothing acne within the first 12 hours, with anti-bacterial effects to inhibit acne bacteria from growing. It comes in a size of 15ml.
